An increasingly diverse national workforce allows for different people, from varied socio-economic and gendered backgrounds to collaborate together, which in turn fosters a more flexible and creative workspace. This trend is also seen and celebrated in the trucking industry. The Women in Trucking Association and Freightliner Trucks, have been recognizing this diversity since 2010 by bestowing the “Woman In Trucking (WIT)” Award to one influential woman in the trucking industry.

First created in 2010, this award spotlights female leaders who have an influential role in their company and are a role model for other women in the trucking industry. Female leaders are making a difference every day, in any given industry, and it’s important to recognize their achievements.

The final nominees of the “Influential Woman In Trucking” Award will be encouraged to attend the 2016 Accelerate! Conference & Expo which will be held in Dallas, TX, November 7-9. There, a discussion panel will be held and the recipient of the 2016 “Influential Woman In Trucking” Award will be decided.

The winner of the “Influential Woman In Trucking” Award receives:

  • Industry-wide exposure over several months.
  • Recognition during the 2016 Accelerate! Conference & Expo.
  • A feature article in “Redefining the Road” magazine.
  • Features in news releases, media initiatives, and various social media channels.
